Clomid (Clomiphene Citrate) 50mg is a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator (SERM) that stimulates the pituitary gland to release both LH and FSH, restarting natural testosterone production and spermatogenesis after steroid cycles. Clomid is the more aggressive PCT option compared to Nolvadex (Tamoxifen), stimulating both gonadotropins more potently, which makes it particularly useful after heavy or long cycles with deep HPTA suppression.
PCT Protocol
- Standard: 50mg/day (1 tablet) for weeks 1-2, then 25mg/day (half tablet) for weeks 3-4
- After heavy cycles: 100mg/day (2 tablets) for week 1, 50mg/day for weeks 2-3, 25mg/day for week 4
- When to start: 14 days after last Test E injection, 3 days after Test Prop, 21 days after Deca, next day after oral-only cycles
Clomid vs Nolvadex
- Clomid (this product): stronger stimulation of both LH and FSH. Better for heavier suppression and fertility recovery. Can cause visual disturbances (floaters, blurred vision) and more emotional mood swings than Nolvadex. These effects are dose-dependent and reversible
- Nolvadex: more targeted, fewer side effects, better tolerated. The standard first-choice for most users running standard cycles
- When to choose Clomid: after 16+ week cycles, after multiple 19-nor compounds (Tren + Deca), when fertility preservation is a concern, or when previous Nolvadex-only PCT resulted in slow recovery
Side Effects
- Visual disturbances: blurred vision, floaters, light sensitivity. Occurs in approximately 5-10% of users. Dose-dependent. Reduce dose or switch to Nolvadex if this occurs
- Emotional mood swings: more common than with Nolvadex. Irritability, tearfulness, anxiety. Usually mild and transient
- Headaches: occasional. Usually resolve within the first week
