Diclofenac 100mg SR (sustained release) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat joint pain, muscle soreness, tendon inflammation, and post-training recovery discomfort. The sustained-release formulation provides 24-hour pain and inflammation control from a single daily tablet, making it more convenient than standard diclofenac which requires dosing 2-3 times daily.
Why Athletes Use Diclofenac
Heavy training creates acute inflammation in joints, tendons, and muscle tissue. While some inflammation is part of the recovery and adaptation process, excessive or chronic inflammation impairs training quality and limits progression. Diclofenac works by inhibiting the COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes that produce prostaglandins, the chemical mediators of inflammation and pain. It is particularly effective for joint pain in the knees, elbows, shoulders, and lower back that accumulates from heavy compound lifts.
Diclofenac is also useful during cycles involving compounds that dry out joints, such as Winstrol, where reduced synovial fluid can cause significant joint discomfort under heavy loads. While not a replacement for joint-protective compounds like NPP, it provides symptomatic relief that allows continued training.
